TERRY PITTINGER · PLANT CITY, FLORIDA
Husband. Father. Master Deputy. Community volunteer.
I believe good things happen when we show up for one another.

01 / MY STORY

I’m Terry—a husband, father, public servant, and neighbor who cares deeply about this community.
Since 2002, I’ve served with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Today, I serve as a Master Deputy and bailiff at the Plant City Courthouse. That career has shaped how I approach everything else: listen carefully, stay dependable, and take care of people.
Beyond the courthouse, you’ll find me helping organize community events, connecting local businesses with sponsorship opportunities, supporting young people, and working alongside volunteers. From an inclusive baseball day to a Christmas tradition, I enjoy the work that brings people together.
My Christian faith and family are central to my life. I’m part of First Baptist Church of Plant City, and I value the chance to turn those convictions into practical service.

04 / EXPERIENCE WITH PURPOSE
Public safety, nonprofit leadership, business operations, and event logistics—different responsibilities with the same commitment to people.
I began as a detention deputy in March 2002 and moved to judicial protection in December 2007. I serve as a bailiff at the Plant City Courthouse and earned the Master Deputy designation in March 2014.
My work centers on safe court operations, professional coordination, and helping people navigate challenging situations with dignity.
My volunteer work has grown from driving to coordinating artist transportation, drivers, vehicles, and changing event schedules. I have served as Lead Driver since 2024.
I also supported event and dignitary operations at the SUN ’n FUN Aerospace Expo in 2024–2025 and contribute sponsorship and advisory support to Planes, Trains & Automobiles.
My roles include President / Board Chair of Special Swings, Vice President of the East Hillsborough Law Enforcement Appreciation Association, Treasurer of The ONE, and a member of the Plant City Family YMCA advisory board.
I served as lead coordinator for the Plant City Youth Commission’s 2025–2026 program. Earlier service includes the Plant City Main Street board and coordinating volunteers for its 2025 Oktoberfest.
I’m a co-owner and operations lead at Elite Axe Throwing, a family business bringing mobile entertainment to Tampa Bay events. I also manage residential property operations through TDP Legacy Key.

I graduated from Durant Senior High School in 1997, completed the Detention Academy at Hillsborough Community College in 2002, and completed the Law Enforcement Cross-Over Academy at Sarasota Technical Institute in 2005.
Continuing professional development includes crisis response, de-escalation, mental health and wellness, autism awareness, and emergency preparedness.
